Ok what a night I had tonight... listen to this...ok read this...
First off I drove about 30min to another side of the city to
meet a friend so we could go for a walk with a walking
group. I realized about 2 hours before we were suppose
to meet there that the group wasn't actually meeting
but I couldn't get a hold of her so I drove up there to
meet her anyway.
We meet almost every Wednesday and she lives close
to where I work so normally we wouldn't each drive
30min to meet but tonight we did. Finally I get up
there and she walks up to me and says, "I can't walk
tonight the doctor told me I can't" huh?? No problemo,
I completely respect that. We chat for a little bit and
I take off. I decide to go for a run of walk 3mins and
run 1 7 times at a park near my house.
As I am in my second walking session a man walks
by me and says, "I like the way you walk! You walk
with confidence, it's great." I had to ask him to
repeat himself because I didn't hear him and he said,
"You walk nice and tall it's great!" "Well thank you."
I said, he says, "Well it's true. Keep enjoying this
lovely evening!" "I will thank you - you too!" He was
such a pleasant man!
He was right about it being a lovely evening. To start
my run I ran in to the sunset towards the mountains.
It was beautiful and on the way back I ran towards
a blue, purple, and pink sky that reflected in the
lake and a full moon ahead, it was truly lovely!!
Then I was just finished my last set of running
and I ran by a friend from college. She is so
bubbly and positive, she's great! I was all super
sweaty and stuff so she gave me a hug anyway and
asked what I was doing. I told her I was training
for Iceland. See - she is the one that told me
years ago about the Team Diabetes (or another
similar team) for a half marathon in Iceland!
She ended up not going but still she's the one
that told me about it.
Anyway, we get talking and we start talking about
jobs and what we would like to do in life and
how our current jobs just aren't quite as positive as
we would like them to be - we work in media.
The talking continues and we talked about how nice
it would be to do more positive stuff in media.
We talked until it was dark and we couldn't see each
other - probably an hour. Her husband was super
awesome too. We start talking about how great it
was that we saw each other and we connected.
They said they never go for walks in at the park
but decided just to go tonight. They were saying
everything happens for a reason. Then we
realized we live on the same BLOCK!!! isn't that
amazing!! So if we ever want to work on little
projects or something it won't be hard!! God knows!
GOD IS AMAZING and I feel like maybe there is a plan...
and I thank HIM that I went for my run tonight - who
would have thought I would run a good run and connect
with my friend. HE did I guess... but I sure didn't. Everything
happens for a reason, both good and bad!
